Your steps in the entrance exam procedure

Step 1: Registration and application for admission to a degree programme

The deadline for the registration and application is already over.

Step 2: The written entrance exam

At least 14 days before the written entrance exam you will receive an e-mail with information about the exact schedule for the entrance exam and a link to your "Einlassbestätigung". Without this "Einlassbestätigung" you may not participate in the entrance exam. Please save the whole day for the written entrance exam and if you come from abroad travel at least the day before.

The written entrance exam entails questions evaluating the following skills:

  • Part A: Ability to acquire the knowledge expected of students starting this degree using the learning materials provided (see "reading list")
  • Part B: Ability to think formally/analytically
  • Part C: Ability to understand simple texts on the subject matter in English and German

The pure working time for the exam will be 3.5 hours.

At the end of the exam you will be informed about the further steps. Around 14 days after the exam the results as well as information about your further steps will be sent via e-mail as well.

Ranking

The entrance exam consists of three parts. The standardised, weighted scores of each part are added up. The parts are weighted in a ratio of 2:1:1 (A:B:C). The results are ranked according to the sum of the standardised, weighted scores per part. The highest sum corresponds to rank 1, the lowest to rank n (n = the number of participants). Persons who achieve a ranking from 1 to 485 will be admitted to the degree programme.
