New entrance examinations from the academic year 2019/20 onwards

Following the performance agreements with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, it has become clear that further entrance examinations are planned for various bachelor/diploma programmes from the academic year 2019/20.


So far, the bachelor programmes (International) Business Administration, Economics, Biology, Pharmacy, Nutritional Science, Business Informatics, Computer Science, Mass Media and Communication Science, Psychology and the Teacher Education Programme have already had compulsory entrance examinations. Following the performance agreements with the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, it has become clear that from the academic year 2019/20 onwards further entrance examinations are planned for the following bachelor/diploma programmes:

  •  Transcultural Communication
  •  English and American Studies
  •  Chemistry
  •  Law
  •  Sociology
  •  Political Science
  •  Social and Cultural Anthropology


The introduction of entrance examinations aims at improving the staff-student ratio and creating better conditions of studies. The entrance examinations will consist of a two-step procedure comprising an Online-Self-Assessment and a written exam.
